In 2018 I was thrifting at Reclaim It! a creative recycling center here in Portland. I came across a box of wood paneling and tiling samples; $0.25 each. I purchased the entire box over the course of a few visits to the store. You can see the subtle signifiers on these nonrepresentational works of glued labels and strange surface inconsistencies. I enjoyed the game of transforming these mundane objects into brightly colored closed in and expansive spaces.
